One of my dogs has been getting thinner and thinner where his ribs were becoming more pronounced. My guess is he has some sort of cancer, but he hasn't shown any discomfort. Recently, I started giving him crushed fresh turmeric root, dried lemon balm, chaga mushroon extract and vitamin D3 caps mixed into pumpkin seed oil, hemp seed oil and olive oil. He gets about 1/2 teaspoon twice a day with his food. His food portions have not change. He has gotten this for about two months and he has plumped back out a bit. I see a big difference. This is a regimen I wished I started for him a year ago. I think it has stalled what he has, but not cure it. Neverless, if it wasn't for the info that I have read as of recent - info which falls under the definition of anti-angiogenesis, I would not have considered creating and giving him this concoction with each meal. Now I can put a name to the therapy.

my understanding is that if you cut off the blood supply, the tumour canot grow and in effect will die or at the least be dormant. There is evidence that foods can inhibit the growth of tumours, Sloan Kettering did a small but not entirely conclusive study, on the use of pomegranate juice. Tumeric has been found effective on breast cancer cells when consumed with pepper, you can find this study at the U of Michigan.

My impression from the TED video is that anti-angiogenesis means preventing or stemming the growth of new blood vessels (the "genesis" of tumors), but not necessarily reducing the size of existing blood vessels/tumors. Is there any evidence that these foods actually reduce the size of existing tumors, as claimed in this article?

much of the information on angiogenesis and foods are encapsulated in Richard Beliveaus book, "Foods that Fight Cancer" including appropriate amounts i.e. 250ml of red wine per day, 2 squares of 70% cocoa dark chocolate per day, the best tomatoe sauce is one you make yourself.

Okay this is making a lot of sense. I am having difficulty with quantity such as, tomatoes several times a week = ketchup on my french fries? Red Wine, Whoo-hoo how many bottles a night and will it kill my liver? Dark Chocolate, are we talking Hershey's, I hate Hershey's...Mars makes a nice one under the "Dove" name, one ounce a day = a bag every nine days!
What about that garlic, I know guys which feel they should take a one millameter slice of a garlic clove each day, they pop it like a pill! Should i change from my morning coffee to Earl Gray tea? How many times a week should I suffer Tofu? mushrooms = Doglips, can I blend them into my tomato sauce or do I need to make a tea with these also.
WHERE IS THIS INFORMATION AND WHAT IS A GOOD SOURCE ON THE WEB?
Thanks
